The tension around the both of you came to a stop after yesterday evening. Thank god it did—the both of you didn't even know what would happen if your friendship(?) broke down just like that, and it would be Nicole's fault for it falling into pieces. But thankfully, you're not stupid.

But Nicole was doing something that she had never done before. She was actually trying. She was trying something new—something that she normally wouldn't do for anyone else. She was going to try to change. To change her ways around you. Sure, she can be a bitch with others but with you she will change. Nicole is fully aware that you wouldn't leave her due to her bitching. It's hard to even get rid of you anyway.

So here you two were, at the store, looking for things to give to Nicole's mom for Mother's Day. How sweet!

"So you don't know anything that your mom likes?" You asked puzzled. Nicole looked away.

"Uh, no?" She spat. "Well—that's a fatass lie. She—uhh—she loves cigarettes."

"...No shit! Everyone's mama loves some cigarettes! What about chocolate?"

"I don't know."

You let out a sigh as you went ahead and got some chocolate in a shape of a heart, along with a nice pink gift bag. "Well we are too young to get some cigarettes." You added.

"We can just seduce the worker up front." Nicole said plainly without any thought. You gave her a disapproving glance as you looked around the store for anything else. "She likes those bars where you gain a whole fuck-ton of weight." Nicole said.

You gave her a weird look before she nodded her head over to a pack of Kalteen bars sitting on a shelf. "Well, that's something." You said, grabbing the pack of bars. "Get your mom a card—a card that is nice."

"What the fuck was that synthesize on "Nice?" Nicole scoffed.

"Cause I know how you are. Go get her a card."

Nicole rolled her eyes as she headed back to the aisle where all the cards were displayed. She looked in the Mother's Day section for something, "Nice" to say about moms who do their job right—yeah as fucking if her own mother does her job right. She can't even keep a damn job. Nicole picked out a random card, not even looking at what it said and walked back to where you were. Before she could even put it into the basket you snatched it out of her hands and read what it said. "I picked out a nice card. The card will have nice writings on it anyway, it was in the damned mother's day section." Nicole grunted.

"You never know." You said, placing it into the basket. "I think we're good—oh!" Your eyes flickered over to some flowers and you rushed over to them. "They are 60% off! Let's get some." You said as you picked out some roses. Nicole watched as you grabbed a small bouquet of roses with her arms crossed. She doesn't understand why you wanted to get something—or make Nicole give her mom something for Mother's day when her mom treats her like shit. "I'm sure all this will convince your mom to allow you to get somebody your belongings—or even allow you to come home." You spoke with hopefulness in your voice.

Go...home? Go back to that devil spawn of a home? She'd have to deal with her fatass brother and her bitch of a mother. She won't have to deal with someone as kind and considerate as you—your home is her home. She doesn't want to leave, she doesn't want to leave you. She hate her home—it hates her.

"Come on, let's go pay for our things and convince Mother Dearest to let you back inside." You said, grabbing Nicole's hand as you dragged her to the cashier. Nicole felt a pit grow in her stomach that she hadn't felt before.

She has gotten attached to staying with you.
